Landmark

Chardonnay Overlook 2006

100% Chardonnay, mostly from Sonoma but with a smaller percentage from vineyards in Santa Barbara County and Monterey County.  The wine is completely barrel fermented using indigenous yeasts and undergoes full malo-lactic fermentation.  It was aged sur lie for ten months in Burgundian barrels.  This chardonnay is a great example of the California style which is not overwhelmed by its oak.  The fruit and barrel spice are at equal levels making for a wonderful drinking experience.

Robert Parker 90 points, “One of California’s finest as well as realistically priced Chardonnay is Landmark’s Overlook.  The 2006 exhibits classic tropical fruit, orange blossom, and citrus oil aromas along with a subtle whiff of oak in its fragrant, pure bouquet.  Excellent acidity, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a stunningly long finish result in a beautiful Chardonnay to enjoy over the next several years.”
