Ghost Block

Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2005

Wow!  Great nose exudes heavy-duty cassis and black cherry, vanilla, cigar box, liquorish, leather and juniper.  The rich palate of cassis and earth is wound tightly by it structure leaving an electric interplay on the tongue between the richness and length of the fruit and the cleansing acidity and peppery tannins.  Delicious but this wine is clearly equiped for the long term and will be drinking better with another six months aging.

Wine Spectator 93 points, “A big, rich, expressive style that’s intense and concentrated with ripe, firm, vibrant black cherry, blackberry, currant, anise and spicy, toasty oak, which adds a nice flavor dimension.  Best from 2009 through 2014.”
