Chateau d’Epire

Savennières 2005

100% Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley.  Although Savennieres is often made in a sweet style, this is dry and serious.  The nose shows flint, lemon custard, mint and fresh thyme, tangerine rind.  The palate is viscous and well balanced with flavors of apricot, lemon, grapefruit, custard, juniper and minerals.  Long finish with cleansing acidity.
