Brander

Sauvignon Santa Ynez Valley 2006

100% Sauvignon Blanc from both estate vineyards and purchased grapes.  The aromas center around flowers, lime zest and flint.  The palate is extraordinarily well balanced for a wine at this price level and offers flavors of honey-dew melon, lime, passion fruit, guava and wet stones.  The finish shows minerals and is lightly spicy like pink peppercorns.

Serve with, Cheese: Buche Maitre Seguin, Le Chevrot, Humboldt Fog, Robiola La Tur, Fromage Clarines, Pecorino Toscana fresca.  Other foods: All manner of seafood especially clams, mussels and oysters on the half shell, lighter chicken dishes, green salads.
